Beadwork and jeans

This light and summery outfit was taken for a spin two days ago, as I was running errands in the sunny but not quite hot weather. It is slowly warming up outside, though, so by the end of the week you are going to see me in shorts and skirts. Yeah!

This beaded jacket was an impulse buy at HM last week. Though the colour is not one I usually gravitate towards because it tends to make me look washed out, I love the beadwork and the straight cut of the jacket. It is very Marniesque, and I love most things Marni – and garments that lean towards the art deco style of the 1920s.

To make the jacket the centrepiece, I added neutrals to wear with it – white bootcut jeans and a black top. Top it off with some gold jewelry, and I was good to go. Oh, and the dot over the i to me were the classic black Givenchy loafers, a celebratory treat when I learn the size of my tax return. Aren’t they just gorgeous? Their sizing runs quite big, so size 41 fits me perfectly.
