Happy thoughts

{1} Speaking English
Luckily, I get to write in English every day on this website, but that is not the same as speaking the language. When speaking, you are really put to the test as to whether you remember the vocabulary and pronounciation of all the words that you know are in your head somewhere, just not right at the front. I love how my English accent and vocabulary return after a couple of days in Britain and I start to think and dream in English again!

{2} Sunflowers
Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers – along with peonies and tulips – and their large, bright yellow bobbing heads just bring a smile to my face! They also remind me of my time living in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and the dear friends I made there.

{3} Living in Norway
Though I don’t think much about it on a daily basis, sometimes I am reminded of how lucky I am to be living in a small, socialist and relatively wealthy country like Norway, where we are not divided by social classes and poverty doesn’t really exist. We have a support system that catch us if we fall and we are helped back on our feet by numerous government programmes, so that we have a chance to pursue our dreams while always having food on our table and a roof over our head.
