Silk and shine

I love the starprint on this silk shirt from Equipment and often lust after their other styles online. However, I wish this brand – which FYI was founded and is run by Carinne Roitfeld’s husband – was a little cheaper and easier to come by in Norway. As with most of my silk shirts, I ignore the instructions on the care label to have them dry cleaned (which costs an arm and a leg in Norway) and either hand wash or wash on the gentle silk cycle in the washing machine. I’m happy to report that I’ve only had success so far!

The autumn is speeding up now, and it won’t be long until wool sweaters have to come into the rotation. Before that happens, I’m enjoying a week in London, and the weather forecasts promises me 16-22 degrees, which is like a second summer to me. I’m a bit confused as to what to wear at this transitional time of year, though, as it tends to be cold in the morning, then warm during the day, then cold again. Layers seem to be the thing, but what I really want to wear are skirts with bare legs! But that I can, in London, so now I’m off to plan my packing and select comfortable skirts for sightseeing during the day and fancy dresses for cocktail sipping at night.
