Party, party in black and fuschia

Tall girl's fashion // Dinner party in fuschia

At Friday night’s The Sprig of Parsley dinner party I changed into a skirt and top just before the guests arrived. By then most of the cooking was complete, I was hopefully done spilling and it was time to play hostess — to dish out (incredibly strong and sometimes sweet) apple mojitos and introduce everyone to each other.

It was so much fun to see my girlfriends again, some which I hadn’t met up with in a year! It didn’t take long until everyone was housewarm and our laughter lifted the ceiling. It was also fun that my friend L wore almost the exact outfit as myself. It just proves that we both have pretty great taste, right? And let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with a black fifities inspired full skirt. It also leaves you plenty of room to eat under all those pleats…

I received some pretty cool hostess gifts and the one that took home the humour prize was the parsley plant from L and M. It quickly became the centerpiece on the dinner table and will reappear at every parsley dinner in the future. Hilarious! My apologies for the herb looking a bit sad in these photos — I forgot to water it yesterday.

If you are looking for inspiration for your own dinner party, look no further; I will share with you our delicious Mexican dinner menu in my next post!

  • Love the skirt! The parsley plant is such a great hostess gift. I can’t wait to see the dinner party menu!

Thanks, Carmen! The herb in a pot is a great gift — it will be used in dinners all week and the pot is a gorgeous storm light.
