Last Saturday, I was the happiest food lover in Oslo — a dear friend invited me along to enjoy a six course dinner at gourmet restaurant Fjord. As the name suggests, Fjord specialises in seafood, and oh my, do they know their fish!
The pre starter, compliments of the chef.
The dinner was a delight from beginning to end — from the pre starter through to the deliciously aged portwine that accompanied the incredible Norwegian cheeses.
The beautiful starter — skrei (Norwegian arctic cod) carpaccio with caviar.
The absolute highlight of the dinner was the third starter, an out-of-this-world lobster soup with fish, accompanied by a perfect chardonnay. I oohed and aahed my way through the entire bowl and secretly wished for more, but then my friend would have had to carry me home, as six courses is a large amount of food in one meal, even at gourmet sized portions.
The open kitchen where the chef is happily smiling after I complemented his amazing lobster soup!
I was very happy that I was wearing a stretch jersey wrap dress, as it could easily accomodate my increasingly larger stomach! In honour of the gourmet experience, I added a bit of sparkle through gold jewellery and a bold fuschia clutch. All in all, the perfect attire to enjoy the perfect meal.
If you are ever in Oslo, be sure to book a table at Fjord. You can choose from two to six courses and either go with a wine package or select your own bottle from the wine list. Trust me, it will be a meal to remember!
