For almost three months I have been back at my old fitness routine, working out from three to five times a week by running, walking, doing yoga, lifting weights and generally jumping about. Now I can finally see some results and it is so rewarding! Though I’m nowhere near as fit as I — and most likely my doctor — would like me to be, I’m finally rid of all my aches (back, knees, shoulders), am bursting with energy and can feel progress with almost every workout. Only yesterday I made a new personal best on my run! I couldn’t help but post the victory on Instagram — that’s what social media is about, right, bragging about your feats when there’s nobody else around to tell?!?
One very cool biproduct of getting fit is that my old clothes once again fit. While the non-stretch jeans I’m wearing today were intolerably tight only a month ago, I now need a belt. Tomorrow, you’ll see another pair of jeans — flared and currently trending, no less — that I fit back into. It’s hurrahs all the way to my wardrobe and back. Imagine all the money I will be saving by going shopping in my own closet!
Consider today’s outfit a protest against those who say you can’t wear white in the winter. I think the white jeans look cool and crisp against the dark wintry colours in the rest of the outfit — which also means that the legs get all the attention. This is OK, though, as we tall girls have plenty of legs to go around. And we have heels. Viva winter white!
It’s also brilliant that the weather is actually allowing me to wear white jeans without the fear of puddles and stains. I love living in Oslo.
