Happy thoughts

{1} Mum and her dog Nelly, aka the cutes Sheltie ever

The second part of Easter was spent in my home town in Western Norway, visiting my mum. While mum was incredibly happy to see me, words can’t describe how excited Nelly, her Shetland sheep dog, was!

Whenever Nelly hasn’t seen me in an hour or more, she goes absolutely ape when we are reunited. In the photograph above I had been on a 30 minute run and you would have thought that I’d been gone for a month! It’s the same every morning when I get up — she runs to my bedroom door as soon as she hears me stir, excited to wish me good morning. It doesn’t hurt that she’s also the most cuddly dog ever — she loves to come up on your lap and cuddle. She repays all the petting by trying to lick you all over and her tongue is really hard to avoid.

{2} Lena Dunham // Not that kind of girl

Though I have only seen about a season and a half of the show Girls, I was very curious to read Lena Dunham’s book in order to learn what inspired her to write the show and make it the success among young women that it is. It was an insightful read into how a young woman has built a strong career in the media industry based on a vivid imagination, a deep understanding of her peers and more guts to expose herself than most of us can only dream of.

{3} Holiday decorations

I love any holiday that involves decorating the flat to make it even more cosy than it normally is! Making the golden Easter eggs was so much fun and I can’t wait to bring them out again next year. Now, which holiday is next that I can decorate for? May 17th, our Constitution day, perhaps?!? Off I go to paint some flags.
