Sometimes a girl’s just got to dress up a bit, even though it is Friday. This outfit was heavily inspired by look 47 in Saint Laurent’s spring/summer collection, recreated with old pieces from my wardrobe.
I take great pleasure in building outfits according to current trends with items that I’ve had in my closet for years. This time my wardrobe saved me thousands of kroners/dollars, if we assume that I would actually be Saint Laurent’s target consumer.
The zippered leather skirt is, at two years old, the newest purchase in my outfit. It was an impulse buy at H&M and quickly became one of the favourite (leather) pieces in my wardrobe.
If you don’t already own a black leather mini skirt — for all my tall readers, that’s a kneelength non-tall skirt, which will become a mini on you (like mine) — I’d suggest that you run out there and pick one up immediately. They look really cool in the winter with a chunky sweater and boots, are perfect for rainy days as the leather repels water and they look really sexy with bare legs and sandals in the summer. Also, if your place of work has a more relaxed dress code, a leather skirt looks very elegant paired with a crisp white shirt and flat shoes. The neck scarf is optional. Tres chic!
