Though I live a full and happy life here in Oslo, I have missed my friends back in Bergen since I crossed the mountains. We talk regularly on the phone, but this is not the same as hanging out with them over a longer period of time, when we can relax and goof around in each other’s company.
I’m extatic that so many friends have visited since I moved over, some multiple times. Lucky for me that Norway is a such a small country — everybody has something to take care of in Oslo at some point!
Last weekend was the first time my friend E came to the capital and she brought her entire family along. Her family is the best thing since the electric tooth brush, so I headed straight into town to spend some quality time with them.
Together we explored Aker Brygge in the sunshine, eating ice cream, admiring and sometimes making fun of art at Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, and enjoying a delicious burger at Døgnvill Burger, which just opened a new restaurant at Aker Brygge (my favourite hamburgers in town).
As friends, food and art are three of my favourite things in life, this turned out to be the perfect Friday afternoon. The icing on the cake is that E has promised to come back and visit me on her own pretty soon!
I’ve already showed you a selection of the amazing artwork in Astrup Fearnley, but I couldn’t resist including some of the new new pieces that are on display, especially as I love the to-the-point title of Tracey Emin’s quilt (see below)!
Burberry plum trench coat // Banana republic printed blouse // Warehouse camel leather skirt and plum bangle // Unknown brand plum tights // Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses // Salvatore Ferragamo brown shoes // Don Donna black leather handbag // Golden earrings are souvenirs from Antibes // Isabel Marant golden necklace // Unknown brand brass bangle
Jeff Koons // Michael Jackson and Bubbles
Tracey Emin // Not too much to ask
