A Ray Of Sunshine

Tall Girl's Fashion // Yellow sundress

Many, many weeks ago, when it was still cold and miserable here in Oslo, this sunburst of a dress hang all by itself on a rack at H&M and called out my name. It turned out that the dress was an online exclusive purchase that somebody had returned that day. One woman’s trash, another woman’s treasure.

And what a treasure! Whenever I wear the dress, I feel young, carefree and fun. You can say that the dress brings out the younger side of me that doesn’t worry about work, money and bills. Come to think of it, I should make a point of wearing this dress every single day of the week and I’d probably be a much happier person with less wrinkles and grey hair!

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of worrying going on in my life a the moment. I have some important issues that I need to sort out which I can’t and won’t bore you with, and while I’m doing my sorting and rearranging, my blog will suffer: Posts might be up in the afternoon or evening as opposed to the morning, that trend report might not be ready on the day I promised it would, etc.

While I hate to break a promise, I’ve also got to take care of the more urgent matters that ensure that I have a roof over my head and food on my plate. This blog, my fashion baby, is just a hobby, after all. Admittedly, it’s a hobby that I love and that I wouldn’t want to live without, especially when I read your encouraging comments to my posts, but unfortunately blogging doesn’t bring me any income.

So please bear with me and my somewhat erratic blogging behaviour for a while while I sort out my issues and you will be handsomely rewared with lots of great posts sometime in the future — I have been playing with the idea of adding a couple of new series to the blog, but I just don’t have the resources to get started at the moment. But one day. One day…while wearing my yellow sundress.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, dear!

PS // See how I paired these orange sandals with palmprint culottes and a purple top.

What a great find at H&M. My local H&M does not accept online returns, we still have to mail it back. Love the details of this dress on you. Take care of what you need – we will be here when you get back!

Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you Thursday.

    • I don’t know if H&M normally accepts online returns — I’ve never actually found an online special in the store before, but then again I don’t know how many online specials they do. Life is already looking up — thanks for your encouraging words! xoxo Anett

Not everyone could pull off that dress and you totally rock it, Girl! Take your time doing your thing. Most of us have “real” jobs too … and it’s hard to find time for all the blogging we’d like to do!

Thanks for sharing with Fun Fashion Friday!

    • Thanks, Dawn Lucy! I got a lot of work done last week before I went on holiday and it has really paid of. Great things are about to happen, I think, and it feels so rewarding. xoxo Anett

  • Anett, I hope you are able to sort things out with ease and not too much stress. Sending positive thoughts your way!

    • Thanks, Shelbee! I’m actually already seeing the fruits of all my hard work last week and the future seems a lot brighter now. xoxo Anett

  • That’s such a pretty dress! It looks beautiful on you! Love it!

    • Thank you so much, Tea Style! I feel really pretty in it as well. xoxo Anett

  • What a pretty dress! Love the color and lace details.

    • Thank you, Amy! I feel so feminine and pretty in it, so it’s definitely coming with me on holiday tomorrow. xoxo Anett

  • Oh, this is such a pretty dress! You look gorgeous in it. I love the bright colors you chose to go with it, as well. I am slowly trying to add more yellow to my wardrobe, and now I think I need a dress!

    • Thanks, Jannie! I think you need a yellow dress, as well. The colour makes you feel so happy and bright! It’s the best colour for summer dressing. xoxo Anett

  • I wish I looked this good in yellow! I love it, but it doesn’t love me back. x Allison

    • Haha, it’s the same with me! I can only wear it when I have a tan, otherwise I look like I have jaundice. Have you tried on yellow with a tan? And with different shades of yellow? My dress is a creamy pastel. xoxo Anett

      • The only way I’m tan is if I spray it on!! I’ll give it a go because I really do love yellow! x Allison

        • Hehe, give yourself a good paint job and head for the stores! xoxo

    • I also love yellow and have difficulty wearing it with my skin tone. But this new mustard yellow that is abundantly available for fall looks great on me (it has an almost blue undertone). Have you tried something in mustard? And if the yellows trending don’t suit me, I just accessorize with them instead! I still get the same sunshiny feeling if it’s on my feet or on my pocketbook!

      • Thanks for the tip! I’ll give them a go! x Allison

      • Thanks for the tip, Shelbee! I’ve actually tried mustard as well – I think I’ve tried every colour in the colour chart, truth be told, as I love experimenting in the dressing room — but mustard tends to be too muddy for my skintone. I look better in clearer colours. I’m slowly building up a great tan, though, so when I get back from Greece I can wear any colour that tickles my fancy, including mustard. Exciting! xoxo Anett

  • I love this look!!! Yellow is my favorite color and I love the necklace with it.
I’d love for you to join me tomorrow for my Fridays Fashions link up. 🙂

    • Thanks, Jaymie! Yellow really isn’t the best colour for my skintone — think jaundice — but it works in the summer when I have a tan and I love wearing it! Thanks for stopping by. I’ll be sure to check out your linkup tomorrow. xoxo Anett
