Buzzing Like A Bee

Tall Girl's Fashion // Black lace blouse and mustard leather skirt

Oops, my intented six hour break from posting my Sneak Peek on Thursday quickly became a two day mini holiday! My best friend from childhood was in town with her husband and two girls, as the girls were competing in Norway Cup, one of the world’s largest football (soccer) tournaments for kids. Over 1.600 kids and 30.000 people are involved, and though it started as a purely Norwegian tournament, an increasing number of foreigns team take part.

Since I don’t have children of my own, I love to spend time with kids and cheering them along, so I had great fun on the sideline. After the games, my friend and I had plenty of time to catch up over refreshing drinks and delicious meals in the sunshine — the weather was really hot and gorgeous for most of the time they were here. We hadn’t seen each other in a long time and I had missed our good talks. Now I’m totally up to date on gossip from home!

Sometimes I just want to wear something fun and the striped bee-like tights in today’s outfit really make me snicker in my beard. Aren’t they great? I have no idea where I got them so when my toe finally pokes through the fabric, I will be very sad not to be able to replace them. Still, let’s have fun while the tights last!

As you probably understand, my tights were the starting point of this outfit. I brought them in a mod direction, adding my mustard (cognac? Brown?!?) leather skirt and black lace blouse. It took me forever to choose the correct shoes, as the stripes in the tights made all shoes types look out of place. In the end I landed on simple ballerinas, though a slight heel would probably have added some leg length and made up for the leg shortening of the stripes. Still, ballerinas won, since I was running around town all day and comfort was key!

If you have big (up to size 42) and/or narrow feet, try on Pretty Ballerinas’s ballerinas with an elasticated edge. I have them in four different colours, as they are the only ballerinas that actually stay on my feet.

Also check out how I wore this leather skirt like a warrior princess earlier.

  • So fun and very eye-catching! I love that you push the fashion envelope and infuse a bit of fun into your outfits. You’re inspiring me to be more daring. Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend!

    • Thanks, Beth! It’s fun to mix things up a bit and not always be so serious. Btw has your email adresse changed? My emails came back saying your adresse was off and I’ve looked everywhere on your new blog for your new email. Help! 😉 xoxo Anett

      • So sorry! Just saw this. I still need to create a Contact page on my new blog. My old email was down for a bit with the transition but is back up. The new email is info@tallfashionadventures.com. 🙂

        • Thanks, Beth! I tried to resend the emails a couple of days later and they went through, so it’s all OK. I’ll make a note of your new adresse, though! xoxo Anett

  • Great outfit! Love the tights!

    • Thanks, Shani! I really like them too, though the shoe issue is a bit challenging. Haha! xoxo Anett
