Palm Trees & Lace
I love a good culotte and nothings tickles my fancy more than a culotte in a great print! Initially, I saw these palm print culottes on Emily from Cupcakes & Cashmere and I ran out to hunt them down. Admittedly, it didn’t take me long to find them — they were one of the first things I saw when I entered H&M and they had my name written all over them. Yes, H&M staffer had written a sign with my name on it and attached it to the dummy. Yes, I’ve always had a vivid imagination Anyway, the culottes are from the Conscious collection and were a steal at only Nok 249.
The quirky trousers have quickly become my favourite garments to hang out in around the flat, as their elasticated waist and soft fabric make them really easy to jump into in the morning, before I get dressed in my real outfit for the day. Elasticated waist, I can hear you screaming! Yes, this is not normally a great feature — it’s more common on trousers targeting the 80+ age group and tend to make your tush look flat as a plate — but I love it on these trousers.
To play up the whimsy and summery feel of the culottes — I instantly think of sipping G&Ts in St Tropez surrounded by palmtrees and yatchs when I look at them — I paired them with a lace trimmed top and understated pastel pink ballerinas. The fuschia clutch adds a bit of spice to the mix.
Now, who’s ready for those G&Ts?
