These past two weeks I’m really on a roll restyling summer and party dressed into chic autumn outfits and I hope that you’re still with me and are trying the look for youself!
For once, I regard myself as the most frugal fashionista ever, considering I’ve got no money to go shopping but are still having fun reworking items already in my closet. And yes, I know that all my friends who’ve seen my vast wardrobe(s) shake their heads and giggle at reading this, thinking that it’s about time that I wear all the stuff that I own. Ok, ok, I’m on it, right?!?
The striped dress that I’m wearing today is one of, hark, three. (Short pause to check if I really want to admit to this or if I’m just going to write that I own two…. Ok, I’ll be honest. Admitting to being a selective hoarder might make someone else feel like they have a partner in crime. (PLEASE let me know if you’ve done this as well, so I don’t feel so alone here!) OK, here we go).
This dress was so cheap and versatile that I couldn’t resist buying it in three different colours — today’s French chic striped version, another striped version where the stripes are in a zigzag pattern, plus a solid black version.
I’m slightly embarassed about owning two striped dresses that are so similar, but the fashion experts always tell you to buy multiples if you find something that fits you perfectly and that you love. Since I bought three DIFFERENT patterns/colours, I over achieved on this advice, I’d say!
To prove my point, I’m wearing the striped dress in a girly look today and will show you the black dress in a more minimalist Scandinavian look in a few days. To stay warm in the crisp autumn morning, I paired the dress with my thickest H&M tights (fleece lined, no less) and a wool cardigan. I belted my cardigan to show off the feminine shape of the dress. I felt warm and pretty all day!
PS // Your eye vision is OK, it’s the photographs that are slightly out of focus. Deep apologies from my uncooperative remote control!
