From the time I shot this outfit about a week and a half ago and until today, the weather has turned a lot colder. Walking outside without a thick coat on is just not an option anymore and probably won’t be until April sometime. It’s nice to look back and see a frost-free ground, though!
On this warm and sunny autumn day I decided to pull out my fringed blanket cape from years back. I was so keen to wear it that I didn’t even bother ironing out all the creases!
Creases aside, the outfit is a mix of autumnal colours with a splash of brights in the crocheted scarf. I’ve worn this faux suede skirt a lot since I got it — it’s really comfortable and can be worn in a range of different ways. I’d say it’s just about written off already according to my cost-per-wear formula. The skirt shows a lot of leg, so I tend to team it with flat boots. Also, I could safely pile on the layers up on top to balance out the length of bare legs. Wearing both a poncho and a scarf might seem like overkill to some of you, but I don’t like to be cold. If I have a cold neck I tend to get a sore throat. And don’t even let me get started on the consequences of feeling a draft… Oh, the joys of “growing up”!
As you might have noticed, it has been a tad too quiet on the blog these past couple of months, as I’ve been so busy with other parts of my life. Now I’ve had a brainstorm with myself and set myself a manageable goal: In the future I will post on the blog three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The content will be 90 % fashion with a touch of DIY, as Christmas is approaching at record speed. I’ve promised a reader the instructions for knitting a little piglet and I might also show you how to make simple yet beautiful Christmas cards and gift tags.
Bye-bye until Wednesday!
