On a warmish day before Christmas* I teamed my denim shirt with a blue skirt that complemented the colour of the denim — sometimes it feels nice to dress up that denim a little and not just wear denim on denim or denim on white, like I normally do. A sparkly necklace added some bling to the outfit, because I can always do with a bit of sparkle on a weekday, if you know what I mean. The outfit is the perfect combination of casual and chic, me thinks.
The blue skirt is from the talented Norwegian designer Berit Hjelde and has quickly become one of my favourite skirts. I love it’s denim colour and think it will look great with tanned legs and a white t-shirt in the summer. Her dresses and skirts are made of bandage material, so they are super stretchy and will fit you on any day of the month, even in early January after all the indulging over the holidays! This particular skirt style is not in her current collection, but from April she’s carrying a similar pencil skirt that will be available in several different summery colours, including navy.
*The temperature has dropped about 20 degrees Celsius since then, so today I’m wearing tights underneath wool trousers, for comparison!
