Tight & Billowing

Tall Girl's Fashion // How to style a bandage skirt

How about another fancy outfit from the holiday season? I wore this black-on-black party outfit on a double date with a friend, who’s just fallen truly, madly, deeply in love just like myself. Talk about great timing!

The skirt is another design by Norwegian Berit Hjelde (I also own a black sporty miniskirt and a blue miniskirt that I wore earlier this week). I love the double zipper in the back that allows me to make the slit as high as I’d like, while the high waistline creates a much desired hourglass shape. The icing on the cake is the dense elasticated bandage material that holds everything in and lifts even the most stubborn bottom!

To set off the tight skirt I wore a billowing blouse on top, and boy was it billowing — along with my hair — in the icy gusts of wind on my balcony. This is proof I’ll do anything for fashion, even risk my health!

Have a wonderful weekend and expect my column Happy Thoughts to be back on Monday morning!

PS // The first time I wore these sexy heels was out at an Edinburgh club with my boyfriend. In passing a young man shouted “F**k, you’re tall!” at me. He got my standard rude-short-insecure-man response: “No, you’re just very short”. My boyfriend loved the shoes. He was a short self-confident man.

PPS // See another twist on the floral patterned tights in this outfit, in the spirit of the 1970s.

This is such a flattering outfit on you, Anett! I love black. And those tights! They really make everything pop.

    • Thank you so much, Susan! *blushing* I love the tights as well — you can wear the most boring/non-descript outfit and those patterned tights will make you look the part. xoxo Anett
